THERE’S ALWAYS A REASON

There’s always a reason. How many times have we heard this in our lives? Like a broken record repeating out of the mouths of people when things go wrong. This answer so many times comes over from friends, family, co-workers, strangers, and especially church officials, “There’s always a reason.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if just once someone would say, “There’s always a reason and I know what it is.”

But that kind of comment never seems to be the case does it?

REASON

I’ve learned to see some truth in what we are told about why the answers aren’t always given to us, but it still doesn’t totally ease what I’m feeling in the moment. We’re not told the answers because it’s part of the trust we are supposed to have in the unknown and our personal connection to our Source, God, or what ever Greater Power we believe in. It means to trust in the idea that things are exactly what they are supposed to be and we are right where we need to be in order to receive our life lessons. And I do get the gist of that now, though not perfectly.

We come in as perfect beings and are then taught an imperfect system of life by the world around us. Through this system our emotions get clouded, our thoughts are limited to the world around us, we are made to shrink to existing beliefs and life styles to choose from. How dare anyone think about anything that can’t be seen, felt, touched or tested as reality. Shame on us!

STEP OUT OF THE BOX

Our goal then is to remember who we are as that perfect being we were at birth and share our knowledge, talents and gifts with the world. Don’t you wish it was that easy? Cloudy days are easier to comprehend than cloudy goals.

In the Western world most of us aren’t even given a hint that there is the potential of a sketchy sort of road map to follow to accomplish this goal. We’re left without even knowing we’re supposed to wake up to rediscover our true selves. With luck we run into others who do know that this other self of ours exists and tweaks our inner Spirit to start waking up. Sometimes we have to run into more than one such reminder to get started.

WAKE UP

After that occurs we begin to find those teachers, stores, books, classes and the right things to help us put our first steps forward into that breakthrough. It takes courage and inner strength to go against the social grain and it may take more than one try to do it. But something in us draws us further along to test those waters of discovery. Don’t give up. Take deep breaths and find quiet inside you to hear your own inner voice and intuition to take another step, then check it out.

We stumble or can fall on our faces in everything we do so this exploration isn’t any different at all. It takes time, effort and kindness towardsourselves. Accepting the emotions we feel about going in this direction and accepting the challenge to be us.

TAKE YOUR TIME

Taking our time is the one thing the West is not good at, but that is exactly what is needed for this. Time and patience with ourselves and others. Change is difficult for everyone. As you change others around you must change to accept or reject who we are becoming. This whole prospect isalso scary for everyone because we are leaving the box (the belief systems and actions that have made us who we are today) that was built for us by others and ourselves. Most people want to put us back in our box because it’s uncomfortable for them for us to change. They don’t want to change, it’s too scary for them too. Family’s are especially committed to our boxes. Everyone’s ego is in everything and everyone.

If you change, what did they do wrong? We’re raised to believe we reflect on each other because that is how society has always been. It’s hard for most of society to see that someone who is more like their true self is actually a benefit to society.

SEARCH FOR YOURSELF

At it’s core Freedom is about being our true selves and living in a greater truth. I believe that our Fore Fathers really thought they were creating that for the future, even though they really didn’t know exactly how to do it either.

The dark is afraid of the truth and independence because it does mean Freedom. There always have to be limits to live as social groups and countries, but with truth as the foundation of ideas and laws and justice it forms a better society for everyone. Otherwise we just get darkness and chaos much like we have now.

It all starts with each person knowing who they truly are and being the examples and teachers to others. Be the truth to yourself first and then the world. Accepting that there is always a reason for why things happen and that we may never know the answer why. Being human is a precious gift. Don’t waste it!
